Madeleine Registered

February 19th, 2012 by Matt

News that many may have missed while we were in our moving house and not blogging mode is that Madeleine has been admitted to the Register of Lawyers, this means that she may now practice law and work in the areas restricted by law for lawyers. You can even go to the New Zealand Law Society Register of Lawyers and look her up.

I am also rather chuffed to share that after working for her firm, Coast Legal, for a relatively short time she has been offered and has accepted the position of Associate. As I understand it this was based on her performance thus far. She is currently working primarily in family law doing a number of child protection cases where her background in legal philosophy seems to really be an asset as well as the other general areas of family law. She also does a bit of criminal, traffic, estate, home schooling law and civil work and has recently been asked to first chair a High Court matter by another firm who are aware of her arguing skill; she’ll be doing that at the end of the month.

  • Go Madeleine! I’m so proud of you!

  • Congratulations Madeline! I periodically follow MandM; it has been a long arduous journey. Well deserved indeed; both the registration and promotion! A question too if I may? Have you Madeline, or Matt for that matter, blogged on or critiqued the NZ adversarial legal system, where that applies, from a Biblical perspective? If so I would be very grateful for a pointer as to where I might find this to read please?

  • Sincere apologies for the previous two typo’s in Madeleine.

  • Very well done but the question most readers of this blog will be wondering is; ‘when will Maddy use her extremely good legal skills to go on an anti-abortion crusade?’ I believe it is a matter of when and not if.

  • Why is Maddy listed as Ms on the NZLS website? Isn’t she married to Matt?

  • And you should have linked to her work profile, http://www.coastlegal.co.nz/about/

She is second from the top!
