Does anyone have a Sid the Sloth toy from the Ice Age movie series? Sid is our son Noah’s favourite character and his McDonalds Sid toy is his favourite toy.
Whilst away at Mt Maunganui this weekend, Sid has vanished. He was last seen flying off the top of the 6 storey apartment building we are staying in but mysteriously he has not appeared in the landing area as he was expected to.
Noah has Autistic Spectrum Disorder and his McDonalds Happy Meal Sid toy is his favourite toy so you can imagine how upset he is for Sid to be missing, let alone at the prospect of us driving back to Auckland tomorrow without Sid…
Does anyone have a spare Sid toy they would be willing to part with? We are happy to pay for it, to pay for postage. Please email us if you can help.
UPDATE:
Sid is now found!

Thanks guys. Noah has a tendency to think that if he strongly believes something to be the case it will be, so when he was giving Sid flying lessons he believed Sid would land on our deck and it just did not enter his mind that he might be wrong. That Sid might have broken or landed somewhere off target was not what he intended so it was not going to happen. It is just how austic type thinking goes.
We are doing another search this morning but Noah has just sat down with me and looked at the various Sid replacement options everyone has posted and is a lot calmer now so thankyou!.
Autistic mom here.
All I can say is Yaye that sid has been found. You need to tell him to stop wondering about, trying to eat leaves off of trees without you knowing.
So glad you found Sid. We have a 9 yr old son who has a small fury brown teaddy with a satin bow tie, “Satin Bear.” Life is not good if Satin Bear goes missing or gets left behind anywhere.
We have found that traumatic events last years with Noah before they settle down so it was the last thing we needed.
Sid has now gone missing again at home (Noah likes to keep his room messy, he feels anxious when we tidy it to vaccum it and ritually messes it back up as soon as we have cleaned it, so it is probably just amongst the mess) but because Noah knows Sid is here at home somewhere he is fine about it, he asks for help to look for him each day or so but he is otherwise ok. Generally we do not encourage Sid leaving home with Noah precisely in case what happened over the weekend happens but sometimes he brings him places without us knowing and the past weekend we did give permission for him to come because we figured it would be hard for him to be lost at the apartment we were staying (we were not counting on the flying lessons).
We have managed to pick up a spare Sid on Trade Me for $1 now.
I hope you start using contraception and stop breeding tards.
That is a bit anti-choice of you Faye.
I was thinking of stopping using contraception and having 3-4 more while I still can.
Oh dear that is so touching and so lovely and so awesome to have such a nice and great story of the sid, he was missing and how much you were concerned about your baby and then you found it, its so lovely…
Faye it’s good to see the pro-choice movement out and proud of their eugenicist roots.
Stamp out ‘tards!
