The winner of the best blog post from a biblical blogger has been announced and it is a clean-sweep for the kiwis (even the nominees were all kiwis!):

First Place: Contra Mundum: The Flat-Earth Myth – by Matthew Flannagan

Nominated by (in order of nominations received):

Madeleine Flannagan
Phil Middlemiss
Ropata

Second Place: John Milbank’s Atavistic Orthodoxyby Deane Galbraith

Nominated by:

Erepphun

The prize for first place is a $50 USD Eisenbrauns Gift Certificate
The prize for second place is a $25 USD Eisenbrauns Gift Certificate

[There is also a $25 gift certificate for the nominees though I am not clear on how that works whether it is only for first place or for second too and I am not sure how the fact Matt’s piece got 3 nominations will be dealt with…]

Well done the kiwis and thanks to all who nominated and voted.

  • Hurray! Well done, Matt!

  • congratulations!

  • Deanes article was really good (although I’m generally a Milbank supporter), which should be considered a compliment to yours, because It was excellent.

  • Judge Joel just clarified that the nominee voucher will be awarded to the first person to nominate the post, which was me. So, as Eisenbrauns do not carry much on free exercise jurisprudence or legal ethics (my research interests) – certainly nothing by Vincent Phillip Muñoz or Alan Donagan or Christopher Eberle – authors of the two books and article in an edited work at the top of my book wishlist, I’m donating my voucher to Matt who I think is looking for more Old Testament Ethics works to add to his collection which should make for some interesting blog posts.

  • Shot Matt! I’m proud of you brother. Just wanna say; you’re a real inspiration aye. You the man. Congrats again

  • Woahwoahwoah. Thats some good work Matt! Keep it up matey!

  • Matt and me, eh? It’s true then: birds of a feather flock together. Congratulations, bro.

  • Thanks Deane, I am going to remember that you said we were “birds of a feather”….LOL

Yours was obviously well received. Congrats .

  • Hey Matt, bro you got any big talks/debates coming up? Cause after your FLANNAGAN vs bradley debate, I’m like a whole new person aye. Kia ora katou
